Teflon Tape for Timpani Bearing Edges
Teflon Tape for Timpani Bearing Edges
This is the teflon tape you've been looking for! This is the proper "teflon tape" to use on the bearing edges of timpani bowls when installing new heads.*
1/2" wide, 36 yards long on each roll, .004" thin! One roll will do 2-3 full sets of timpani and last 2-3 head changes. See YouTube Short below for more information.
The DKP Teflon Tape is not only timpanist-tested, it's stronger and thinner than the "regular" stuff on the market. The pressure sensitive adhesive will stick better, working along with the thinner film, contouring to the bearing edge of any timpani bowl. Thinner film = better sound transfer!
* Common question answered: Plumber's teflon tape is not the same thing and does not have adhesive on it; it is meant to lubricate pipe threads. This tape will stick to (clean!) surfaces and provide "stiction" free operation of your timpani heads.

Teflon Tape for Timpani Bearing Edges is the best tape I've ever had.
It applies quickly and easily, and the results are fantastic. No noise from the timpani head. I'm very happy with it.
I like the better than spray teflon. Nothing to wipe off and no mess.
